"Amazing" Scrapbook Layout + process video by Louise

 Hi Scrap Friends

Louise on the blog today.
How much easier is it to Scrapbook a layout you love when your working with a gorgeous collection of products? This page is super easy with lots of details.

"Amazing"

For this layout, I've used the delicious Simple Stories "I am" collection.

Although it features some florals, I felt the colours and patterns would work well for boys layouts too.

Teamed up with a background of Colour Blast paste "Sunshine" = Winning!!!

This is a sweet, simple page, easy to put together with just a touch of medium added.

Here is the process video if you'd like to watch .

Thanks for visiting.

Love and Kisses

Hello friends, it's Ann here with a beautiful stamp by Penny Black which I've stamped using the Misti tool.  The stamp is 'Spontaneous Joy' and is a red rubber stamp, which means it is possible to apply pigment to the rubber and stamp the colour directly to the paper.  I have used mainly Distress Markers, and a couple of Tombow markers for these cards, (a water based ink is ideal) after watching this youtube lesson by the very talented Jill Foster.  I used watercolour paper, even though no water was added to the pigment.  I will try using regular card stock next time, but the effect of dry stamping on watercolour paper has given a lot of texture to the surface.

This was my first effort, and you can see the depth of colour is more concentrated than my second attempt below, where I tried to obtain a softer look.  I have to say I like them both!

The process involves a lot of repeat stamping - no brushes or water!

  • Firstly ink all over the flowers in a very light ink - the first one I used Antique Linen Distress Ink, but found the outline a little difficult to cover in some areas, so on the second card I used Memento Angel Pink.
  • Next ink up the stems and leaves with memento Bamboo Leaves - take care not to cover any of the flowers so for this the little dew drop inks are perfect!
  • By this stage, you will be able to see the whole image, and from here on you just keep applying pigment, through markers or ink pads, to wherever you want more colour.
  • Please be patient with this technique, as it can take quite a while to achieve the look you're after - and avoid the impulse to touch it with a brush or water - it doesn't help!  Just keep adding to one section after another, until you are satisfied with your result.
  • It is a lot of fun, and I encourage you to give this a try with any of Penny Black's beautiful red rubber stamps.  You do need a stamping tool too - because you need to repeatedly stamp in the same place to achieve the layered look you wish.

I decided to follow Jill's idea of masking around the stamp, and sponging inside the masked area with Distress Ink Antique Linen, then adding some very light script stamping, as it seemed so perfect a finish for this lovely image.

The sentiment is from Altenew Heartfelt Sentiments stamp and is embossed with some random red embossing powder from my stash and Ranger platinum embossing powder.

The card fronts are adhered to kraft card and cream card which seemed to suit the watercolour paper best.

"Little Cutie" Scrapbook Layout + process video by Louise

 Hi Crafters

Sharing a new Scrapbook Layout and if you scroll down a little further, there is a process video too.

"Little Cutie"

This "Pen & Ink" collection from Kaisercraft is so pretty - but I love that it's really neutral and perfect for boys pages.

I am gradually working my way through an old pile of DH childhood photos for an album for him and  these were just perfect for this collection.

I've teamed the paper collection with some Colour Blast paste in "Leather"

Thankfully, this is one of those layouts that really came together so easily - that's what I love about paper collections.

Here is the process video if you'd like to watch .

Thanks for visiting.

Happy Mothers' Day with stencils

Hi all, it's Ann here just in time for Mothers' Day with a very quick and easy card, using a stencil to create the focal point.

As you can see, I've used various sized triangles and a simple layout to showcase the lovely colours of Distress Oxides - Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry, Twisted Citron and Wilted Violet.

My tip when using stencils, is to clean off each colour each time you apply it to the card front - it is incredibly easy to smudge inks when using this technique.

The sentiment was stamped using the Misti, to aid in correct placement and also to get a very clear impression with such a bold font.  I chose the sentiment from Altenew's Stunning Cosmos as it complements the simple design so well.

My white panel is popped up using fun foam onto a purple card base - this card will go to my daughter-in-law - I hope purple is still her favourite colour!

By the way, I have a couple more cards using this stencil on my blog, so please pop by and take a look!
Products available from Scrapbook Boutique:

Stencil:  MFT Basic Shapes - Triangles
Sentiment:  Altenew Stunning Cosmos stamp set

Thanks so much for visiting, and to all mothers reading this, enjoy your special day tomorrow!
