"Us" Mixed media scrapbook page + process video by Louise

 Hi Crafters

To share a new scrapbook layout - "Us"

Lately my creative mojo has gone missing!!!
So when it comes to creating I'm struggling.
To complete this page, I've tried going back to some old techniques.

Firstly paste through a stencil.
I just adore this Trodat leaf stencil.

Then I added some of my "go to" colour - teal!
I've used acrylic paint and added lots of water, allowing the paint to run through the paste and down the page.

The background papers come from the fabulous DCWV "Wild and Fancy" collection.
Once I'd finished with the mixed media elements, I wanted to tidy it all up and bring it together.
So I hand stitched around the inner paper square.

To finish I've added some flowers and leaves.
The title I cut using the Cameo and gave it a coat of black gesso, followed by a little sprinkle of glitter.

Here is the process video if you'd like to watch .

Thanks for visiting.

You Matter to Me

Hello everyone, and thank you for visiting our blog today!  Ann here with a card using Concord & 9th stamp set Just Because.

We can all use a card at times with an uplifting message, and this stamp set contains several - this is one of them.

To begin I created a top fold card in standard 10.5 x 14.5cm and cut a piece of grey card the same size as the card front.  To give the grey panel a little more interest, I stamped around the edges with the leafy image from the stamp set in grey ink then adhered this layer to the card.

I sponged the small Screen stencil by Kaisercraft with Distress Oxide in Twisted Citron,  allowed this to dry thoroughly before cutting it with a rounded stitched rectangle die.

The stamp set includes two large 'because' words - one in Upper Case and one in script.  Using the script option, I stamped the word on white card - a good idea would be to use the Misti, so that a very clear impression could be achieved.  Then I hand cut around the text leaving a small border - which makes the sentiment stand out more easily over a pattern background.

On spare pieces of white card, I stamped a few flowers and leaves and fussy cut these out, and stamped the remainder of the sentiment in the bottom right corner.

To pop up the rectangle, I adhered fun foam to the back and centred it on my card before gluing it down.  Using Mono Multi glue, I adhered the text and small flowers and added a few rhinestones to embellish.

Thank you so much for visiting and I hope you enjoy some crafting time too!

Celebrate with alcohol inks!

Hi there!  Angela here and  thanks for popping in today.  I have quite a few backgrounds left over from my "alcohol ink day"  I have a problem cutting up and covering up  my backgrounds as I love them and the beautiful vibrant colours they produce.  Neat & Tangled sentiment dies are fabulous for me as they have the shadow sentiment to use along with the sentiment, that you can also use alone.
The gold mixative is fast becoming a favourite and I love the effect with the greens. Paired with kraft paper, it gives it a lovely rustic feel.

* Trim Kraft cardstock 20cm x 13 cm anf fold in half
*Using Tim Holtz alcohol ink paper as your background, splash the inks and move around the paper.
* With the gold mixative, drop a few drops over the paper and move it around to your liking.
* once dry, die cut with rectangle stax
*Die cut neat and tangled sentiment in black and green and adhere together using glossy accents
*Using play foam cut a little smaller than rectangle die and adhere to kraft carstock.
* Adhere sentiment to bottom right hand side of card.
