Happy Day

Hello there!  Ann here with a card I made with Collectables from the Kaisercraft collection:  Ubud Dreams (and a little stamping and stencilling).

The Ubud Dreams Collectables are all in lovely shades of aqua, blue and green, with some contrast natural, so I of course stayed within that colour range.

Firstly, stencil the background with texture paste onto blue cardstock - the Kaisercraft 12 x 12" stencil called Intricate Tiles was my choice, because one of the tiles replicated exactly the tiles in the stamp set 'Mosaic'.  In the second photo, you can see one of the pieces from the collectables, showing the same pattern.  Leave this panel to dry thoroughly - I left mine overnight.  Trim to 10.5 x 13.5cm.

The only stamping on my card was the delicate background to the door - using the half doily shape from the stamp set Mosaic and white heat embossing onto vellum. The beauty of vellum is that it doesn't show the cut edge very clearly, so easy and quick to fussy cut, but this stamp set includes matching dies, so even easier!

To put this card together, I first sponged the edges of my pieces (other than the vellum) with DI Gathered Twigs.  I felt this made the individual pieces more cohesive on my card.

The card base is Kraft card - measuring 22.5 x 15cm, folded in half.  I needed to customise the size of this card, which is slightly larger than usual, as the main piece (the door) required a little space around it.  I then added a few embellishments to complete this card.

Thank you so much for visiting today, and I hope you get to enjoy some wonderful crafting time soon!

2 Tags by Lynn Good

Good morning, Lynn here today to share with you two tags made from the Kaisercraft Cherry Tree Lane Collection.   I will back these tags with cardstock and create cards out of them.
I went for a his and her them :)

I created this tag using a Kaisercraft stencil and modelling page.  On top of this I glued random pieces of paper from the small paper pad of the Cherry Tree Lane Collection and a doily cut in half.

I then covered the whole tag with clear gesso

I used white embossing powder and the Kaisercraft stamp from the Cherry Tree Lane Collection randomly on the tag.

Some splatters of Peeled Paint Distress Paint and watered down gesso before layering the tag with the die cuts and stickers from the collection.

Final touches with crystal glass beads, blush micro beads, glitter and a ribbon died in the peeled paint and the tag was complete.

Here are a couple of close ups:

Tag 2

For this tag I started by covering the entire tag with ripped up bits of paper from the collection.  I then added a Kaisercraft stencil and 3D Gloss gell.  Once dried I covered the whole tag in Black gesso,

Using the Finnabair Metallique Steampunk Copper Acrylic paint with my finger I applied in random areas of the tag.

Keeping it relatively simple, I used some Prima white wire behind the die cut and attached with dimensional magic.

Final touches with glass beads in Zinc, Butter and Crystal and Micro beads in Bronze and Copper.

Here are some close ups:

Thanks for stopping by and I hope that I have given you some inspiration to get out some mixed media products and have fun.

Til next time - Happy crafting
