Tweet Wishes

Hello everyone - it's Ann here today, with a cute little card, featuring two of the owls from MFT stamp set:  Tweet Wishes

To guide my colour scheme, I chose the paper Free Spirit by Cocoa Vanilla - stamping the tree from the set directly onto one paper, and using the script from the back of another sheet.

On the white background panel (cut to 10.5 x 14.8cm) I sponged a wave stencil with Distress Oxide inks in my colour palette of aqua, pink/coral and peach.  This was my very first time of using Oxides, and I am thrilled with them - they blend beautifully, layer when added to another colour, and look so soft!  Just sayin'....

The tree, with a little colour added to the leaves, was adhered to the front panel, which was then cut using the scalloped rectangle die from ME Basic Set, and then adhered to a pink card base.

The owls were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black onto smooth blending card, coloured with Copics (colours used listed below) and fussy cut out.  They were then added to the card with foam dots.  I did add some sparkle to their beaks with Spectrum Noir clear pen, but couldn't capture that on my photo.

I tried something a little different for my sentiment - I just cut thin strips of the text paper, and snipped them to include different sentiments, then added these to my card front.  A bit random, but I think it works:)

A few sequins were added and the card is finished.

Copic colours used:  R32, R35, RV14, RV95, E02, B000, B02, BG15, BG49

Thanks so much for coming by - have a great weekend, and happy crafting!

12 x 12 Layout by Lynn Good

Hi Everyone, Lynn here with a layout that I created using a photo of some flowers in my garden.  I used to have a lovely garden but without the time to get out there and being allergic to ants and bees we are slowing reducing the garden variety to limit the maintenance.

I have used the fantastic paper from 49 & Market Heirlooms Botanical Collection.  This paper is super thick and can withstand alot of mixed media.   I do apply clear gesso to the entire sheet as I like the inks to pool and dry and not soak into the paper.

I have created the close ups using different computerised coloured backgrounds to show the different effect they can have on the layout.

I have used the Nuvo Mousse - Mother of Pearl through a diamond stencil on the background.  Once dried I have sprayed Lindy Stamp Gang sprays and Magicals around the area of where the photo will be.  I did apply water to them so they would spread around the layout.  Once it was all dry I have used the Kaisercraft Marble Stamp with a Stazon Ink Pad in Timber Brown

The flowers are Blue Fern Studio.  I have coloured the Art stones with Lindy Stamp Gang Magicals - Raspberry Lemonade and Cotton Candy Pink.  This is fiddly but looks great.

I stamped the Kaisercraft Brick Stencil stamp onto the background and used Stampendous Embossing powder.  I love this stamp as I dont want a super clean image and it is more grungy.

The Wood Veneer title is from the Cocoa Vanilla Wild at Heart Collection.  I covered it with gesso using a sponge to get the bumpy finish.  I then painted it with the Lindy Stamp Gang Magical - Raspberry Lemonade.

I have linked the products used to the shop below.

Thanks for stopping by and til next time - Happy Crafting :)

Happy Happy Happy with Angela

Hi there, I have been playing with my Distress Oxide Ink Pads again.  I have used them as just a plain old ink pad this time.  I love the new Lawn Fawn Happy Happy Happy stamp set and had a ball filling all the blank spaces.  I do love the softness of the Oxide Inks colours.

* Trim red cardstock 10cm x 28cm and fold in half
* Trim Neenah white cardstock 9cm x 14 cm
*Using Lawn fawn Happy stamp set and all the Distress Oxide Inks,
stamp the Largest "happy" in the top left hand corner and then randomly using the other happy stamps to fill in the spaces.
* Making sure to change the colour with every stamp.
*Using the smiley face,  stamp where there are little holes.
* Adhere to base card using double sided tape
* stamp "birthday" on a small piece of red cardstock using versafine black onyx and adhere to bottom right of card with foam dots.
