Tweet Team

It's Ann here with another card using MFT stamp set Tweet Wishes.  I just love the tree made for this month's challenge using alcohol inks, and rather than put it away 'to use later' - we all know what happens to those little precious pieces don't we -  I decided to use it immediately.

Autumn is upon us, though Melbourne is still enjoying some beautiful weather (as I write this) but I kept with the autumnal tones of the alcohol inked tree for all colour choices.

Steps involved:

  • Using a sheet of Yupo paper and alcohol inks in red, yellow and green - prepare your sheet and allow to dry.  I have more pictures of this step on my blog, which can be found here.
  • Adhere the sheet with Stick-it paper to a piece of card, and then gold heat emboss the tree and leaves.  Fussy cut out.
  • Stamp two of the owls - you can see I chose one looking down and one looking up - and colour with your choice of medium - I used just a few colours of Copic markers, in autumn tones.
  • Prepare the card using Kraft cardstock, to make a top fold card measuring 10.5 x 14.5cm.
  • Sponge a panel of white card with the MFT cloud stencil, using a very pale blue ink and trim to  10x14cm and adhere to the card front.
  • I had a piece of burlap 'ribbon' in my stash so used that as my 'ground' as I love the additional rustic feel it provided.  Leave enough room below your ribbon/ground to stamp a sentiment.
  • Adhere the tree and leaves using tomboy mono multi glue, and pop up the owls with foam dots.
A simple little card for sure, but many people seem to be entranced by owls (and also elephants) and I will have plenty of opportunities to give this card to a friend.  I hope you try either the stamp set or the alcohol inks - you're sure to enjoy them both!

Thanks so much for visiting today, and happy crafting!
