Need a Hug?

Hi everyone, it's Ann here with another Crazy Dog by Tim Holtz, as promised a little while ago.  This time I used the full size image rather than the mini dogs I used last time.

Just the character you would want to give you a hug, I'm sure:)

I simply stamped the image onto blending card, coloured the pooch with a mixture of 3 brown markers, and added a bright blue to the collar, and red to his tag.  I used a pale cool grey for the shadow.

To use with the two Crazy Dog stamp sets I've been using this month, I have created a Word document with several suitable sentiments, in a variety of fonts, to suit the personality of each dog.  However, as I didn't know where I needed to place the sentiment before I started out, I cut out the sentiment, and adhered it in place before die cutting the stitched rectangle.   At other times, I've cut my sentiment with a speech bubble, and I've also used wood chip words that are easily available.

My pattern paper background is from a Kaisercraft 6.5" paper pad called Botanical Odyssey - I liked the robust colours of those stripes.

Isn't he charming?

Thank you so much for visiting today and I do hope you enjoy your own crafty time!

  1. He's a cutie! Great idea to print out the sentiments that you need. I'm going to hunt out my old typewriter (I think I know where it is!) to do a similar thing, Cathy x

  2. Beautifully coloured. Great image. Not sure I would like to give him a hug! :)
