Layering Fuschias

Hello friends - it's Ann here with a bright thank you card - just what you may need after receiving so many goodies at Christmas time - or for any time of course when you want to show your appreciation!

I had a lot of fun with this stamp set by Hero Arts trying out the various colour combinations but for this card I chose a bright look.  I have another card on my blog if you would like to check it out here - it uses softer coloured flowers.

The stamp set includes 3 flower images and a couple of buds, and the accompanying 'cheat sheet' included in the packaging clearly shows which layers go with each image, so that is a great help!  My advice is to choose inks that are juicy, to achieve a good coverage.  I found many of my older inks were a little too dry to look effective, so I used my new Distress Oxide inks - and they worked perfectly, as you can see.

Card recipe:
Onto the front white panel - measuring 9.2 x 13.3cm,  stamp the leafy branch (I added a little portion of the stem again so that I could place two more flowers in the arrangement) - I used DO Twisted Citron, and before stamping it out tapped a little Hero Arts Field Greens onto the inked stem to provide a little dimension.
Stamp out the flowers you wish to use, and fussy cut them out.  I stamped the one bud directly onto the card panel.  Inks used were:  DO Worn Lipstick, Wilted Violet, and memento Love Buds for the small bulb section.
Cover the top folding card measuring 105 x 14.5cm with a layer of green paper (from the Avery Elle Paper Pad Sorbet Collection cut just a little smaller than the card front.
Attach the flowers to your panel - I used a mixture of glue dots, mono multi glue and foam pads.
Stamp the sentiment from the stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black.
Add a few enamel dots to complement the flowers.

Thank you so much for visiting, and I hope you find time to make a lovely thank you card for those special people in your life!
