Happy Spring card

Hi all - it's Ann here today sharing a bright and spring-like card for a birthday boy this month!  I love the colours behind the cover plate, and they are so easy to create, using my favourite pigment powders - colour burst!  Scrapbook Boutique do not have these particular powders in stock, but I can recommend Lindy's Stamp Gang - Prairie Wildflowers in a 5-pack set which includes these colours.

I'm sure you've all tried these pigment powders, be they colour burst, brushos, colour blast, color box or Lindy's stamp gang - they are incredible fun to work with, and they produce unique and vibrant panels to do as you like with every time.

I created my panel onto watercolour paper, using a larger sheet so that I could cut at least two cards from it, and left it overnight to dry out and also to flatten a little.

The beautiful Striped Leaf cover plate die was cut from white cardstock, but be aware that it is US width, so I chose to cut my cardstock to create a card 11.5cm wide 14.5cm long.

I adhered the cover plate die cut over the top of the coloured panel, and then adhered that to my card base - it seemed sturdier to do it that way.

The white die cut sentiment was from my stash - I have several 'happy birthday' dies, as the font is so important for different looks - I thought this looked suitable for a cheeky young man!  I mounted this on to a piece of black card, to ensure it stood out.  As this card is for a male, I didn't adorn it with anything else - I think it is fine as it is.  What do you think?

Thanks so much for visiting, and I hope you find time for some fun stamping!
