Blue Rose

Hi there!  Ann here today to share with you a clean and simple card using the Heartfelt Creations Botanical Rose stamp and die sets.  This time I'm using Distress Inks to colour my rose - take a look:

I blended Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean inks onto white metallic card, creating a shiny coloured card, which I then stamped with Versafine Black ink.

I prepared the white card front by colouring up texture paste with those same inks, and applying it over the Tim Holtz stencil Dot Fade.  This panel was attached to the card front from the right hand side, and a strip of coordinating pattern paper from my stash was placed at the left side of the card.  A very thin strip of black cardstock was attached as a contrast between the two layers.

The die cut rose was shaped and layered - I turned each of the various sized stamped flowers over onto a spongy mat, and with a shaping tool, or rounded end of a stylus, gently pull each petal out from the centre.  Then turn it over and push down into the centre - forcing the petals to rise up.  Do this with all of the flowers, and layer it up by applying glue to the centre of the largest flower, offset the petals of the next largest, and adhere down.  Do this for as many layers as you want to use.   I attached the completed rose to the left edge of the white panel.  The leaves were created by sponging DI Mowed Lawn over the metallic paper, and stamped and die cut and shaped in the same way as the rose.  They were then arranged around the rose and glued into place.  I hope you can see how pretty that sheen is:)

Even the textured paste has a soft shine to it.  Love that aqua colour!

The sentiment is from the Mama Elephant stamp set Woodland Gifts.  A few little gems completes this simple card.

Thanks so much for visiting, and I wish you Happy Crafting!
