Potted Pretties by Ann

Hi, it's Ann here with a fresh and simple card using the Mama Elephant stamp set:  Potted Pretties.  I have created a little scene to showcase the pot of sweet strawberries, but have left most of the card clear.  You may remember I used the same sentiment before (for the blog hop this month).  It is so appropriate as an encouraging message.

I just had to include this little photo, because I wanted you to see how mouth-watering that juicy strawberry really is!

Now to the steps to make this card:

1.  As usual, start with an A2 card base, or make your own by folding white cardstock 21 x 14.8cm in half.

2.  Stamp the strawberry pot image on appropriate  cardstock, with black ink.  Colour the image with your choice of medium (I used Copics on blending card and used Memento black ink).  Once coloured, fussy cut image out and spread some Glossy Accents over the strawberries, then leave aside to dry - this could take about one hour.

3.  Meanwhile, create a small sky panel, by spongeing clouds over a piece of white cardstock about 6 x 10cm.  There are many cloud stamps/dies/and stencils around, but if you don't own one, or they aren't quite the size you need (as in my case, I didn't want huge clouds that would have been the wrong scale for my scene) - you can create your own template by punching various sizes of circle punches out of a piece of cardstock about 10cm wide as seen on my strip below.  Sponge gently upwards to the top of the cloud, and move the template about a little so it is not too uniform, for a more realistic look.

4.  Cut out a window die shape, or even a rectangle with a border would suit.

5.  Cut out a landscape hill (I used a die by Memory Box - Modern Landscape) but once again, if you don't have one, freehand cut a gently rolling hill.

6.  Arrange the hill below the clouds and adhere the window shape over this scene.  Trim away the excess around the window.

7.  Adhere a strip of pattern paper 1.8cm wide and 14.8 long to the left edge of the card front (mine came from the Echo Park 6x6 pad, Sunny Days Ahead).

8.  You will need a separate card front, cut to 9 x 14.8cm.  Arrange your scene and pot, but before adhering in place, stamp your sentiment at the bottom of this smaller front piece.

9.  Finally, adhere the white panel to the card base, adhere the window scene with a wet glue (e.g. Tombow Mono Multi) and the pot image with foam dots,  and you're done!

Thanks so much for coming by, and Happy Crafting!
