Wish Big with Avery Elle

Hi everyone!  It's Ann here and I have a fun card for you today, using the Avery Elle stamp set, Storybook, and some really pretty papers from the 6" x 6" paper pad by Echo Park, called Sunny Days Ahead.  There are some lovely Easter designs in this pad, and I hope to share an Easter project with you later in the month.  But for now, here is the recipe for this card:

  1. I used a Sizzix flip it card die because I thought it would show off those pretty papers so well, but really, this card could be made with a regular card front just as effectively.  If you don't have this die, and you want to try this style, you can achieve the same result using any shape die you own, partially cutting from each end, leaving about 1" uncut for the shape to pivot and swing.
  2. Cut your papers to fit the card front, as per the die, or cover the front of a regular card.
  3. Stamp the bunny from the stamp set onto cardstock suitable for copic blending with Memento Tuxedo black and colour the bunny using C1 and W1, and the balloon using Y35 and Y38.  There is minimal blending required for this image, so it's a good one to try if you're a beginner at colouring.
  4. Cut out the image using MFT stitched squares, or any shape die that suits.
  5. I sponged some clouds but you could omit this this step if you wish.
  6. Pop the image up using foam dots.
  7. Stamp the sentiment from the set onto a rectangle of card stock and shape the end to a flag.
  8. I added the embellishment of a tiny banner, which is part of the Lawn Fawn stitched journalling card die set.  There are some really handy little shapes in this die set (hearts, stars banners) as well as the sentiment strip and the rounded stitched rectangle.  It is a die set that you can reach for over and over again.
