Recipe Book Tutorial (Part 2)- By Sue Walsh

Hi Everyone

Sue here with the second installment in the recipe journal tutorial I have created using the Simple Stories "Homespun" range.

To The Journal add the Simple Stories Snap Recipe Pages.
These dividers are already decorated and help to organise your recipes.

The Journal came with a mixture of plastic sleeves but my favourite size is the page divided 3x4, 4x6, so I’ve added a pack of those.

Next it’s time to add some recipes. I use the front of the card for the ingredients and the back of the card for the method.  Slot this into the protective sleeve leaving the 2 3x4 pockets for a photo and some decorating.   Remove the complete sleeve from the Journal when it’s time to cook.

Coffee Kisses:
Adhere a decorative strip to the front of the recipe card and staple a piece of ribbon to the top left.
  1. Add a photo to one of the 3x4” pockets
  2. Trim up some dp and decorate with ribbon and an enamel dot for the second 3x4 pocket.

More involved recipes, that might not fit on the recipe cards can be added to the full-page hole punched pages as I did with the Lemon Chicken with Pearl Barley page.

Print ingredients from computer to white card. Cut to a 2inch strip and adhere to page insert.
  1. Print the photo and using the envelope punch board punch a tab. Hand write the name of the dish using a Copic Fine Liner.
  2. Print the recipe to white card sizing it to fit beneath the photo. Cut and adhere to the page.
  3. Decorate the page with washi tape and chipboard pieces
