"Boys will be Boys" layout by Linda Langes

Hi Everyone

Linda here with a layout created using the Echo Park "That's my Boy" collection, based on Sketchabilities Sketch #111

  • Using cream cardstock for your background create a range of textures and dimension on the background using the linked templates, stamps and mediums. Add black circles with a cardboard roll dipped in black acrylic paint. Allow to dry.
  • Add pieces of dry wall tape to the background to create a visual triangle to draw the eye in to the photo.
  • Trace around a plate with black pen to create the circular feature on the background.
  • Cut a piece of Game Plan paper 20cm x 14cm; distress the edges, add a tabbed edge and adhere to the center of the layout, 3cm in from the right edge.
  • Cut a piece of My Boy paper 17cm x 12cm; distress the edges, add a tabbed edge and adhere on an angle on top of previous piece.
  • Paint Chipboard title first with gesso, and then black acrylic paint and allow to dry before spraying with Heidi Swapp Gold Mist. Allow to dry.
  • Cut a piece of Rockets paper 25cm x 4cm and tear along one edge before adhering below the other two pieces.
  • Die cut a Starry Wreath from Controllers paper and adhere to the bottom right corner of the other paper pieces.
  • Distress the edges of your photo and adhere on an angle to the right side of the patterned papers.
  • Create a tangle of black cotton and adhere on top of the starry wreath, adding the Eat Sleep Play Sticker above that in the centre. (adhere with foam tape)
  • Adhere the chipboard title.
  • Tear off a couple of pieces of coordinating washi tape and adhere for added interest.
  • Create journalling strips and adhere in place.
