How To Make Your Own Flairs!

Hi Everyone,
I had been asked by some of our customers if we could get in some of the
1 inch round clear epoxy circles (domes) as they were wanting to use them to make some Flair buttons.
I did a bit of googling we have been able to source some at a reasonable price.
Ready made Flairs are typically sold for around $1 each often in sets of 3 or 6 making them a little expensive for what they are.
Flairs are quite easy to make as the epoxy circles have an adhesive backing.

We had a bit of a play & these are the ideas we came up with for creating them:

1. Silhouette Machine

If you have a Silhouette Machine you can just use the print & cut feature to print the circles then cut them using the machine.
After choosing your designs (or creating your own in the Silhouette Software)
I resized them to be just a fraction more than an inch using the grid on the mat in the software then printed them onto Epson Matte Photo paper.
The two designs I purchased from the Silhouette online Store are:
Echo Park Icons - Design ID #42274
Echo Park Circle Labels - Design ID #41211

2. Circle Punch

Use a 1 inch circle punch to punch out printed paper, photos etc.
You could even use your stamps to stamp something onto scrapbooking paper scraps to create your own unique images.
I did a bit of a search on the internet & pinterest & managed to find a few free images that you can also use. I searched for free 1 inch circle graphics or free printable graphics for bottle caps.
If you are ok with using Photoshop you can also design your own images.

Our SBB Epoxy circles are $6.25 for a pack of 25, which works out at only 25 cents each! Great value compared to the Epiphany Crafts Bubble Caps @ $7.95 for a pack of 15 or purchasing pre-made Flairs @ around $1 each.

'I Heart Summer' Layout by Narelle

Hi Everyone,
Our DT Gal Narelle has created a lovely layout to share today. I hope it gets you feeling crafty too!

Tutorial:
Note 1-  All papers and embellishments are inked before adhering.
Note 2-  The photo on this layout has been raised off the page using foam tape, however this step can be omitted if a flatter layout is preferred.

1.  Use Simple Stories "I heart summer" #3204 "sunshine and laughter" as the base.
2.  Use a scalpel to cut along lower edge of yellow swag so that paper can be inserted underneath it.
3.  From #3215 "6x12 page elements", select the cloud paper and trim to 21.5cm.   Cut out the clouds from left over and keep aside.
4.  From other side of the #3215 "6x12 page elements", cut out the "so much fun" banner.
5.  Mat a 6x4" photo on black side of the remaining paper from  #3215.
6.  From #3213 "4x4 quote"  cut floral panel and adhere 2cm from left edge and 2cm from bottom edge of layout.
7.  Adhere cloud panel under yellow swag and 4cm from left edge.
8.  From the #3214 "Title Strip elements", trim the dots border strip- to 24 x 4.5cm and adhere 7cm from lower edge.
9.  Select the scalloped black Border sticker from #3202 "Fundamentals cardstock stickers" and adhere, starting 3cm from right edge and 20cm from top edge.
10.  Adhere photo 9cm from top and 4.5cm from left.
11.  Adhere the two clouds that were fussy cut from step 3 in the top left left and l;ower right corners, overlapping the photo.
12.  Add the banner that was fussy cut in step 4, over the top of the cloud in the lower right corner.
13.  Add some stickers to embellish the layout.
